Bacheta claims Formula Two title for Comma
01/10/2012
Britain's Luciano Bacheta crowned his Comma-sponsored debut season in FIA Formula Two by wrapping up the championship title at Monza, Italy this weekend. Consolidating on a record- breaking run of four consecutive victories at Silverstone and Portimão, Portugal at the very start of the season, 22 year old 'Luchi' from Brentwood, Essex, held a commanding lead in the championship points table throughout the 16 race Formula Two series.
Popping the Champagne in celebration of Luchi's victory, Comma Sales and Marketing Director Mike Bewsey said: "This is an exceptional achievement for Luciano and all of us at Comma couldn't be more delighted for him. He's done himself and Comma very proud indeed all season. It's also a very special moment for us. In addition to supplying the engine oils, coolants and maintenance products for all 24 cars on the grid through our exclusive Technical Partnership with FIA Formula Two, we have always sponsored a car in Comma livery to support an up-and-coming British driver in the series. Jolyon Palmer came very close to carrying Comma's colours to victory two years ago and has gone on to compete in GP2. It's even more special that Luciano should have sealed his championship bid at Monza, which is regarded around the world as the 'high temple' of motor racing."
A full race report from Monza will appear on this site shortly.
